About California Chamber of Commerce

California Chamber of Commerce is a leading state chamber located in Sacramento. It connects California’s family of chambers into a “chamber of chambers” that promotes state business climate by sharing information and collaborating on business events, training and advocacy. California Chamber of Commerce is much different from local and regional chambers of commerce, as it work on state level as well as federal level issues impacting the business community. It was founded in 1890 and is a registered member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

California Chamber of Commerce is the unified voice of California’s business and premier advocacy organization in the state. The organization helps local and regional chambers with lobbying for pro-business initiatives. It promotes statewide economic growth, and globally competitive workforce. Staff lobbyists make sure that laws and regulations will promote an economic climate that will allow companies to thrive, grow, and provide jobs.

California Chamber of Commerce is committed to focus on Pro-job policies, Business advocacy. It leverages the expertise of state government and work with their Governor, state representatives, state senators, US congressional leaders and US Senators with representing the entire business community to enhance and advocate for a better business environment. For strengthening, referring and connecting state level businesses, the organization also works with Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs).

The association helps in creating a shared and collaborative vision for the state, providing managerial services for local chambers of commerce and professional organizations. Also providing local counterparts with extensive background and adaptable sample documents. The state chamber share information and does counseling to its members on key government developments for conducting policy studies and issuing reports, bulletins, booklets, periodicals and provides legislative advocacy for professional development. Providing access to technical assistance and resources on a variety of topics including operational issues, board management, career development, governance, fundraising and others. Also committee provides its members with a network of like-minded individuals who are ready to assist.

The business network has many benefits, services that it offers to its subordinates and membership holders. Some of the benefits include advocating for a pro-business state government, increasing the quantity of educated, skilled workers, strengthening states critical infrastructure (roads, water, telecommunications and energy), promoting the positive impact of a successful business community, providing legislative services to chamber and its members, lobbying for pro-business initiatives, providing relocation aid, meeting elected state policymakers and discussing business concerns with them, helping them elect pro-business legislators to the State’s General Assembly, monitoring regulations according to what’s best for business, communicating business concerns statewide to the news media, local chambers of commerce, trade associations and local government officials and many more.

The trade union has a wide variety of events from monthly networking mixers to annual luncheons to build and enhance member businesses. It offers engaging events such as CalChamber Business Advocacy Program, Labor Law Helpline, California Labor Law Compliance Program, Business Outlook Conference, California Foundation for Commerce and Education.
